American Heritage Fireplace Inc.

Fireplace Installer & Finish Specialist

Job Description

Company Overview American Heritage Inc. has proudly served the Chicago and markets for over 25 years, delivering innovative hearth technologies and custom fireplace solutions. Our expertise spans from high-rise condo conversions and hotel projects to single-family homes, offering versatile product and design options for projects of all sizes. Job Summary We're looking for an experienced Fireplace Installer & Finish Specialist who can own a job from rough-in to final walkthrough. You'll handle the technical side — gas lines, venting, framing — and you'll also be the one who makes it look like it belongs in a showroom: clean mantel lines, tight tile and stone veneer, a hearth the customer is proud to show off. If you take pride in both the mechanics and the finish work, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Do Install gas, wood, electric, and pellet fireplaces, stoves, and inserts from start to finish. Perform high-end custom finishing work, including mantels, tile, stone veneer, framing, drywall, and hearth construction. Run gas lines, install venting and chimney systems, and complete electrical connections to local and manufacturer code. Conduct safety inspections, draft pressure checks, and troubleshoot completed installs. Work alongside a helper or junior installer and serve as a main point of contact for customers and general contractors on site. Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe from setup through walkthrough. Communicate with the office on job status, material needs, and scheduling. Required Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in fireplace installation, masonry, or specialized HVAC/framing work. NFI (National Fireplace Institute) Gas, Wood, or Pellet certification preferred (or CSIA / applicable state license) — we'll support certification for the right candidate. Proficient in gas piping, venting systems, framing, and finish carpentry/masonry. Comfortable working with or mentoring junior installers. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in varied conditions (attics, crawlspaces, rooftops).
