Role Description The Ironworker role at Hintz Concrete Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Phoenix, AZ. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, aligning, and securing structural iron and steel components for concrete and building projects. The Ironworker will cut, measure, bend and install rebar pieces per plan specifications, operate power tools and equipment. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine rebar placement and specifications. Cut, bend, and shape rebar using hand tools and power tools to match project requirements. Install rebar securely within formwork for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, and slabs. Coordinate with carpenters, concrete workers, and other trades to ensure proper integration of rebar with formwork and other structural elements. Assist in concrete pouring, finishing, cutting, and pumping activities to ensure smooth workflow on site. Follow construction workplace safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe environment for all team members. Use heavy lifting techniques and equipment to handle rebar materials efficiently while minimizing risk of injury. Requirements Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on rebar installation or related trades such as carpentry or concrete work. Mechanical knowledge including the use of hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, and concrete cutting equipment. Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings related to reinforcement placement. Knowledge of construction estimating processes and understanding of construction plans and specifications. Familiarity with concrete forming, finishing techniques, and formwork construction is highly desirable. Understanding of heavy lifting procedures and safety protocols in a construction environment. Strong physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting heavy materials, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
