Experienced Miscellaneous Metals Fabricator Project Steel Company, Inc. is hiring an experienced miscellaneous-metals fabricator for a primarily shop-based position in Hesperia, California.
Pay:
$20.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on demonstrated experience and skill level. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience fabricating:
- Handrails and guardrails
- Steel stairs and stair components
- Gates and frames
- Miscellaneous and architectural steel Primary Responsibilities
- Read and understand shop drawings, plans, and measurements
- Lay out, cut, fit, weld, grind, and finish fabricated assemblies
- Fabricate stairs, handrails, guardrails, gates, and miscellaneous steel
- Check dimensions, angles, elevations, and finished assemblies for accuracy
- Use grinders, saws, drills, and standard fabrication tools
- Produce clean welds and finished work suitable for visible rail and gate installations
- Identify drawing or fit-up problems before fabrication is completed
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Occasionally assist with loading or other shop duties as needed Required Experience
- Previous shop-fabrication experience with handrails, guardrails, stairs, or gates
- Ability to perform layout and fit-up with limited supervision
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Ability to read shop drawings
- Knowledge of welding, cutting, grinding, and metal-finishing techniques
- Reliable transportation to our Hesperia shop
- Dependable attendance and ability to work safely Applicants may be asked to complete a practical fabrication and welding test.
