Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Lathe Welder for our weekend shift to join our manufacturing team. This position involves operating welding equipment and precision machining tools to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in various welding techniques, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced welders with shop fabrication experience to contribute to high-quality metal fabrication projects in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate lathes and welding equipment to produce precise metal parts according to technical specifications Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings accurately Perform welding using various techniques including

MIG, TIG, FCAW

(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure dimensional accuracy Fabricate sheet metal components and assemble metal structures adhering to AWS (American Welding Society) standards Maintain safety protocols at all times, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, ensuring quality standards and production deadlines are met Conduct routine inspections of finished work for quality assurance and compliance with specifications Support continuous improvement initiatives related to welding processes and fabrication techniques Experience Proven shop fabrication experience with a strong background in metal materials and sheet metal fabrication Hands-on experience with various welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding Familiarity with blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math for precise fabrication Knowledge of mechanical systems, assembly procedures, and machining operations Experience working on construction sites or industrial environments is a plus Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately Understanding of safety protocols related to welding, machining, and metal fabrication Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in hand tools and power tools Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform basic math calculations necessary for fabrication tasks This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their welding expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
