Job Description
About us We are a family-owned miscellaneous metals company located in the Trooper/Collegeville, PA area, specializing in the fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metals and small structural steel projects. As a full-service metal fabrication shop, we are committed to delivering quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Fabricator/Layout Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for accurately laying out, fitting, and fabricating structural steel components, using shop drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in producing high-quality structural steel work. Responsibilities Layout miscellaneous steel members using shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications Measure, mark, fit, and prep beams, columns, plates, and miscellaneous steel for fabrication Read and interpret drawings, details, and weld symbols Work closely with welders, shop foremen, and project managers to meet production schedules Operate shop equipment including saws, drills, grinders, torches, and layout tools Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, dimensions, and tolerances are met Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with material handling, staging, and general shop support as needed Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies Qualifications 5+ years' experience and layout fabricating beams, columns, stairs, rails, and miscellaneous metals Strong ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings Proficient in use of tape measures, squares, levels, and layout tools Knowledge of steel fabrication methods and tolerances Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and strong work ethic OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus (not required) Preferred (Not Required) Experience with AISC standards Forklift and/or overhead crane experience Welding experience or familiarity with welding processes Compensation and Benefits We offer competitive pay based on experience, along with a benefits package designed to support our employees.
