METAL FABRICATOR 2nd Shift

Job Description

Description:

The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for setting up the following machines to run production or prototypes. Employees must be able to self-inspect parts and troubleshoot. The employee will work with the Engineering team to ensure the quality of work.

Requirements:

Select types of sheet metal needed for projects Measure and accurately mark reference lines and dimensions on metal sheets Drill holes in metal for rivets, bolts, and screws Use precise measuring tools such as scales, calipers and micrometers to inspect parts and confirm accuracy Operate an AMADA machinery to bend metal using works orders, drawings and specifications to determine necessary setup and materials Load and feed machine as needed Install and align machine accessories either manually with hand tools or by inputting coordinates into the machine control panel Manipulate machine controls to implement cutting adjustments Maintain a safe and clean work environment Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment. Account for time and work completed via the online computer data collection system. Assist with additional tasks as needed

Education:

• High school Diploma or similar degree

GED Experience and Background:

Demonstrate competency in basic shop math. Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids. Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation. Good verbal and written communication skills. Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge. Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed and continuous improvement. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in a cross-functional team. Possess the ability to drive for results, hold self-accountable, and continuously improve Physical Requirements The majority of the job function is performed in a manufacturing setting requiring a high degree of safety precautions.
