In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining steel structures with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and welding techniques will be essential to ensure the successful completion of projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects , utilizing your knowledge and technical skills to deliver quality results efficiently. Responsibilities Interpret detailed steel blueprints to accurately assemble steel components. Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, and other measuring instruments. Fabricate and assemble steel structures utilizing various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS standards. Operate power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment safely and effectively during fabrication and assembly processes. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols throughout all phases of fabrication. Interpret detail plans and blueprints accurately while ensuring measurements align with shop math principles. Experience Proven experience with a focus on steel or metal fabrication projects. Hands-on experience operating cranes, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and power tools used in fabrication shops. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively. Knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW in accordance with AWS standards. Familiarity with metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly. Prior experience working in a fabrication shop environment or on construction sites involving metal materials is highly preferred. Strong fabrication knowledge combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
