Read and understand basic shop drawings, measurements, and fabrication details. Fit, assemble, and fabricate miscellaneous metal components. Perform MIG welding and other welding work as required. Cut, grind, drill, tack, weld, and finish steel and metal components. Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measures, squares, levels, and other shop tools. Assist with fabrication of railings, stairs, frames, supports, structural/miscellaneous steel, and architectural metal components. Set up and align parts before welding to ensure proper dimensions and fit. Operate common fabrication equipment and power tools safely. Assist welders and other fabricators with material preparation and assembly. Perform grinding, cleaning, deburring, and finishing of fabricated pieces. Help with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials within the shop. Identify fabrication issues and report incorrect dimensions, materials, or drawings to the supervisor. Be able to work independently as well as part of a fabrication team. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. Previous experience in metal fabrication, fitting, welding, or structural/miscellaneous steel work preferred. Ability to lift and handle fabrication materials and work in an active shop environment. Forklift, welding certification, or fabrication equipment experience is a plus.

Pay:

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
