This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex naval projects in a dynamic, safety-focused environment. What You'll Do Perform multi-pass tack welding and precision burning using oxygen/propane torches. Read and interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols. Lay out and fabricate piece parts, assemble structural components, and ensure quality compliance. Work with molded lines and ship reference lines to execute tasks accurately. Install and replace hull inserts, penetrations, and complex foundations. Use vibratory tools (grinders, needle guns) and perform Air Carbon Arc Gouging. Follow OSHA safety standards and utilize PPE for all tasks. What We're Looking For Minimum 4 years of documented commercial or naval experience as a First-Class Shipfitter. Strong ability to comprehend fractional dimensions and structural drawings. Skilled in welding, burning, heating, and assembly techniques. Comfortable working in physically demanding environments (shipbuilding, steel fabrication). Familiarity with OSHA regulations and PPE requirements. Ability to work from Work Packages and Drawings to plan and execute tasks. Preferred Skills Experience erecting and setting complex-shaped shell plates, decks, bulkheads, and longitudes.
