Duties:

Safety is priority. Follow all personal safety requirements and company procedures. Work with Journeyman to construct fabrications. Assist in fabrication and installation of sheet metal fittings and pieces using appropriate tools and equipment. Use burn table, press brakes, shears, rollers and other hand tools to grind, cut and assemble. Assist with building maintenance duties. Sweep, dispose of waste, and organize materials and tools. Load and unload vehicles. Operate tow motor/forklift. Deliver to customer sites as needed. Requirements High school diploma, required. Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to health and safety procedures. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical competency and strong reading comprehension. Experience working with metals strongly desired. Current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Physically able to climb, lift heavy items and work in a variety of environments including indoor/outdoor conditions: extreme weather, heights, confined spaces, etc. We are a proud union shop; this role is classified as a Pre-Apprentice with SMART Local 18.
