Pressure Vessel Welder / Fabricator — 1099 Subcontract Granite Peak Fabrication — Casper, WY Earn $4,000 - $5,000 per week Granite Peak's vessel shop is full through Winter of 2027. That's a year of steady ASME pressure vessel work in one shop, with no waiting on the next job to get released. Pay is by the job, not by the hour. If you're an efficient welder, that's the difference between getting paid for your time and getting paid for your skill: an hourly rate caps what you can make no matter how fast you work, but production pay puts every hour you save in your own pocket. Our top producers will clear $5,000 a week — over $220,000 a year — and even the lower end of the range works out to $150,000+ annually. Granite Peak supplies all material, weld consumables, and PPE; you bring the tools and the skill and get paid for labor. Scope of work Layout, fit-up, and welding of ASME pressure vessel components — plate rolling, shell fit-up, longitudinal and circumferential seams, head and nozzle installation, and dimensional checks — in our Casper, WY shop. Granite Peak defines the scope, specifications, schedule, and quality standards for each work order. Work is performed to Granite Peak weld procedures, customer specifications, and ASME requirements. .045 hardwire GMAW root, 1/16 flux core FCAW fill and cap. No contract will be issued without a passing test Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, bills of materials, weld procedures, and customer specifications independently Fabricate to specified dimensional tolerances with little to no rework Operate hand and power tools, saws, grinders, drills, welders, and overhead cranes Maintain a clean and safe work area; work in coordination with at least one other authorized worker while on-site Pass a drug screen as a condition of site access Available for day shift or, as production requires, night shift (Monday-Saturday, 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.). 50-60+ hour weeks are available during peak production. All work is on-site in Casper, WY Weld quality and x-ray All welds are subject to radiographic (x-ray) inspection. Any weld that fails x-ray is the contractor's responsibility: the contractor will repair the weld at no charge to Granite Peak and will absorb the cost of reshooting the repaired weld. Repair and reshoot costs will be deducted from the contractor's next payment. Contractor-supplied hand tools Grinder; 25' tape and 50' strap tape; tri, framing, and speed squares; chalk line; welpers; 2' and 4' levels; crescent wrenches; hammers; weld gauges; welding hood; oxy-acetylene torch (tips supplied by Granite Peak). Contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee, partner, joint venturer, or agent of Granite Peak Fabrication. Contractor is not entitled to overtime pay, minimum wage, benefits, paid time off, health insurance, retirement contributions, workers' compensation, or unemployment insurance. Compensation is for labor only and is all-inclusive. Contractor is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, including income tax, self-employment tax, and FICA, and agrees to indemnify Granite Peak for any liability arising from failure to pay them. Contractor shall comply with all Granite Peak safety policies, OSHA regulations, and Wyoming safety laws. Failure to follow safety rules is grounds for immediate termination of the agreement.
