The Midstream Compressor Technician role objective summary is: This role performs mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and major maintenance on compressor units and processing equipment. The Midstream Compressor Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintains a safe operating environment including the utilization of Stop Work Authority; follows all EQT policies and procedures. Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of various natural gas process and compression equipment, including the following: Natural gas engines Reciprocating compressors Centrifugal turbine compressors Electric motors Auxiliary equipment Performs zero-hour overhauls of various compression equipment Records and analyzes clearance, readings, pressures, temperatures, volumes, hours etc. to optimize maintenance forecasting Successfully completes assignments as directed and within established timeframes. Accurately documents information as defined and utilizes a computerized database for work orders, field data collection, and compliance reporting.
Required Experience and Skills:
At least 3 year of related work experience in the natural gas industry with a mechanical background Caterpillar OEM engine maintenance course certificate Basic computer skills including Microsoft Products Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and research skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to use various measurement tooling such as micrometers, depth gauges and calipers. Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision at times Must be a team player, self-motivated with high level of energy and initiative. Participates in on-call rotation schedule High School Diploma /
GED Preferred Experience and Skills:
Associate's degree in a technical field Maintenance experience with natural gas compression equipment CDL license Basic knowledge of gas quality processing and conditioning Ariel compressor training certificate Fluent in Caterpillar OEM software to navigate, adjust, calibrate and troubleshoot (Caterpillar ET)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:
This position requires work in and around natural gas compression/processing facilities. Candidate must have the ability to pass a physical capabilities test (which includes, but is not limited to, lifting and carrying 70 lbs., walking 1/2 mile at various inclines, etc.) necessary to demonstrate the physical ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to outside weather conditions, which could range from extreme cold to hot, humid conditions. Walking on uneven terrain is often required during normal work duties. May require visiting and walking around some construction and industrial sites, farm properties, driving on rural roads, and other field locations, to acquire familiarity with facilities, properties and settings. High noise areas may be encountered. At all times proper PPE must be used in work areas.
Travel Demands:
As needed per project assigned (25% to 75%) This role is covered under
DOT PHMSA / FMCSA
