The starting salary for an Assistant Landscape Architect, SG-20 is $101,673. This amount is comprised of the statutory hiring rate PS&T Grade 20 ($74,193), an Increased Hiring Rate of $9,980, Geographic Pay Differential of $13,500, and Downstate Adjustment of $4,000, specific to this title and location.
The maximum compensation for this position is $111,621. This amount is comprised of the statutory job rate PS&T Grade 20 ($94,121), Geographic Pay Differential of $13,500, and Downstate Adjustment of $4,000, specific to this title and location.
Landscape Architect 1, SG-24:
The starting salary for a Landscape Architect 1, SG-24 is $118,778. This amount is comprised of the statutory hiring rate PS&T Grade 24 ($91,298), an Increased Hiring Rate of $9,980, Geographic Pay Differential of $13,500, and Downstate Adjustment of $4,000, specific to this title and location.

- Supervision of staff and preparation of landscape architectural activities and projects for park, recreation and historic site facilities for the Region. The position will be required to use your professional license and registration seal.
- Performing a full range of landscape architectural planning, design and construction activities.
- Supervising consultants and contractors during the design and construction phase of projects.
- Design and Contract Document Development. Supervision and preparation of plans, details, specifications and estimates for projects and activities. Review, approve, sign and seal landscape architectural projects.
- Construction Phase Activities. Oversees consultants, directs staff or directly provides for contract administration, construction management, and inspections. Service as Project Manager/Director's Representative of designated projects. Assures that work is completed in accordance with contract documents.
- Evaluating and managing project schedules, quality of work and budget.
- Assigning projects and parts of projects to staff and consultants, review work activities for quality and conformity to professional standards, regulations, codes, program needs and goals.
- Completing or participating in environmental and regulatory permitting. Prepares, secures & monitors permits for assigned and supervised projects.
- Developing graphics that communicate design intent, presentation materials, renderings, reports, and studies.
- Providing technical assistance in the development of project scope of work descriptions.
- Obtains, analyzes, inventories and evaluates field conditions, survey information and data.
- Performs or supervises staff to complete facility inspections and surveys to determine need for repairs, rehabilitations or improvements.
- Performs or supervises staff to research materials, codes, regulations for project development.
- Coordination & communication with supervisor, other groups, facility managers, individuals, agencies, public and organizations to achieve project goals. The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
- To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, or 55-b/c, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position.
The qualifications are:
ASSISTANT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, SG-20
Successful completion of Sections 1 and 2 of the New York Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) AND one year of experience planning and designing landscape development and site improvement projects, and overseeing the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of outdoor spaces and other open areas for transportation facilities, buildings, parks, historic sites, recreational facilities, campuses, gardens, playgrounds, and roads and highways.70.1Transfer Qualifications:
Candidates must have one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as an Assistant Engineer (Civil), SG-20, AND have successful completion of Sections 1 and 2 of the New York Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) AND one year of experience planning and designing landscape development and site improvement projects, and overseeing the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of outdoor spaces and other open areas for transportation facilities, buildings, parks, historic sites, recreational facilities, campuses, gardens, playgrounds, and roads and highways. Only the title listed is eligible for transfer.Note:

PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT

Qualifications. The appointed candidate would have to take, pass and be reachable on the next holding of the Assistant Landscape Architect examination to be appointed permanently.FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT
Candidates may also be qualified for permanent competitive appointment if reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or eligible for reinstatement or reassignment in accordance with Civil Service Law. Landscape Architect 1, SG-24FORPROMOTIONAL APPOINTMENT
New York State Registration and License as a Professional Landscape Architect- and one year of service as an Assistant Landscape Architect.
- Continued employment as a Landscape Architect 1 is dependent upon maintaining a New York State Professional Landscape Architect's license and current registration.

(NCP): In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) of its intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion (NCP) to the position of Landscape Architect 1 in the NYC Main Office of the Capital Bureau. A permanent appointment may be made via NCP of an applicant from the established promotion field who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of an NCP are met. Said requirements include that there three or fewer qualified candidates from within the promotion field interested in the position who meet the promotion minimum qualifications. The promotion field for the Human Resources Specialist 2 (Labor Relations) position consists of OPRHP employees who have one year of permanent competitive, non-competitive (NY HELPS), or 55b/c service as Assistant Landscape Architect.Please Note:
In order to be considered for appointment via non-competitive promotion, candidates serving in the established promotion field must not have failed the last two holdings of the Landscape Architect 1 (Senior Landscape Architect) promotion exam. - Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
- Position will need to work and communicate with the Region, Contracts and Agency staff located in various remote office locations by using videoconferencing, phone and email.
- Candidate is expected to have proficiency in Revu Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Teams, Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook.

NY HELPS PROGRAM
For the duration of theNY HELPS
Program, this title may be filled via a permanent non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired underNY HELPS
will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in aNY HELPS
title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified. Employees appointed via theNY HELPS
program are restricted for promotional appointment until their position is covered-in to the competitive class by the New York State Civil Service Commission (CSC), or they otherwise obtain permanent competitive status. The CSC has covered-in employees who were appointed viaNY HELPS
