Lumber Inspector/Grader - Training Provided Meherrin River Forest Products is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented person to train as a Lumber Inspector/Grader. This is a skilled position requiring strong math, communication, and decision-making skills. Responsibilities Inspect and grade lumber based on size, quality, and defects. Measure lumber and calculate board footage. Identify knots, splits, stains, wane, and other defects. Maintain accurate grading and production information. Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and production employees. Follow all company safety procedures. Qualifications Strong basic math and measuring skills. Good communication and people skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to make quick, consistent decisions. Dependable attendance and willingness to learn. Lumber, manufacturing, or quality-control experience is helpful but not required. Paid, hands-on training will be provided to the right candidate.
