Day in the Life As a Boiler Lift Operator, you will support the flow of lumber throughout the mill by safely operating forklifts and other mobile equipment. Your daily work includes maintaining lumber storage runs, continuously loading and unloading kilns, rotating lumber inventory, and feeding lumber to the Planer Mill. You will also help maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and working collaboratively with team members across the mill. This role plays a vital part in supporting smooth mill operations and ensuring efficient kiln and boiler processes. Key Responsibilities Maintain lumber pack storage runs and rotate inventory from newest to oldest. Continuously load and unload kilns. Feed the Planer Mill with the required lumber. Safely operate forklifts and other mobile equipment. Remove debris throughout the mill to support a safe work environment. Work collaboratively with team members across the facility. Follow all safety requirements, including PPE usage and adherence to lockout procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Boiler Superintendent/Supervisor.

What We Are Looking For Required Qualifications:

Must be able to complete minimum requirements for forklift operator training. Willingness to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed. Strong commitment to safety and excellent attendance. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to learn, adapt to change, and work in a noisy industrial environment. Ability to follow all safety policies and wear required PPE. High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating mobile equipment such as a front‑end loader, skid steer, or forklift in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills. Experience in the lumber, wood products, or manufacturing industry. Experience troubleshooting equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift at least 40 pounds. Ability to work from elevated positions using required safety gear. Ability to perform tasks such as climbing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
