Job Description

SUMMARY:
The person holding this position operates heavy mobile equipment to perform a variety of tasks to support mining, processing, and ash placement operations at a MSHA regulated mine site operated by Northampton Fuel Service operations. Under direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor or other Facility Managers, the employee will be assigned to operate mobile equipment typically found at a surface mine operation. Typical equipment includes but is not limited to a: bulldozer; off-road haul truck; articulated haul truck; water truck; front end loader; grader; excavator; screen plants; backhoe/IT; and / or skid steer. Occasionally the employee will assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs to the mobile equipment and or processing plants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a partial listing of responsibilities: Operating a variety of heavy mobile equipment in a safe and proficient manner. Maintain the assigned mobile equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations or management's preference. This includes the maintenance of equipment lubrication needs - daily and weekly. Work within the specified rules and regulations that are mandated by MSHA and PADEP. Follow and comply with company procedures while performing job functions. Perform housekeeping duties as required. Maintain shipping, receiving, and production logs. Complete mobile equipment pre-shift records, and potentially complete daily inspection logs (if/when qualified). Report hazardous conditions found at the mine site and with the mobile equipment to the immediate supervisor or the lead technician. Perform other duties as assigned by Site Supervisor or Facility Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Off-Road heavy mining equipment operations with some maintenance experience preferred. MSHA miner certification preferred, however will train qualifying candidates.
