Job Description

Generator Service Technician Northside Power is a family-owned Central Arkansas company that has sold, installed, and serviced standby generators since 1978. We are hiring a qualified technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial systems from Cummins, Generac, Kohler, and Briggs & Stratton.
THE ROLE
  • Diagnose, repair, and service standby generators, engines, and automatic transfer switches
  • Perform preventative maintenance: fluids, filters, inspections, batteries, fuel systems, and load testing
  • Support new-system startups and commissioning after electrical and fuel connections
  • Respond to service calls and storm or outage work when customers lose power
  • Work independently from a stocked service truck, document work clearly, and represent the company well
  • Follow safety practices, manufacturer procedures, and applicable local codes
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Hands-on experience with standby generators, small engines, diesel or gas engines, or related electrical and mechanical service
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals and use meters and laptop diagnostics
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Comfort working outdoors, on ladders, and around electrical and fuel systems
  • Strong customer communication and the judgment to work alone with little supervision
  • Factory training or certification on Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or similar brands is a plus
  • Arkansas electrical license or willingness to obtain required credentials is a plus
