Description •This job has preference to qualified local job seekers within 60 miles of our Axis Alice, TX facility. The Swab Rig Helper Assistant assists with swab rig operations, rig-up/rig-down, tool use, equipment support, and field maintenance. This entry-level role requires strenuous physical work, safe work practices, and outdoor field work in active oilfield environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential functions include: Assist the Rig Operator with routine swab rig operations. Follow company safety procedures. Perform daily swab rig maintenance. Operate draw works and monitor downhole conditions and well pressures. Set up, take down, and transport swab rig equipment. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or GED and six months of related experience or training. Valid state-issued driver license required; CDL required only if assigned DOT-regulated driving duties. Able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Able to work outdoors in all weather and perform strenuous physical work. Physical Demands and Work Environment Employees must be able to perform the following essential physical demands, with reasonable accommodation where required.
Lifting:
Frequently lift up to 75 lbs.; team lift up to 100 lbs.
Movement:
Stand up to 8 hours, walk up to 3 hours, and sit up to 1 hour per shift.
Posture:
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; occasional reaching, climbing, and tool use.
Climbing/Grip:
Climb ladders up to 15 ft.; grip strength of 60-80 lbs. may be required. Work is primarily outdoors in all weather, temperature extremes, and high-noise areas. Uses swab rig equipment, pipe wrenches, hand tools, and power tools. H2S respiratory protection may be required in designated areas.
Typical schedule:
12-hour shifts, 14/7 rotation, and approximately 60% travel. Pre-employment screening may include physical, musculoskeletal, pulmonary/respirator clearance, audiogram, vision, drug screen, and functional capacity evaluation. DOT physical applies only if assigned DOT-regulated driving duties. Qualifications Education Required High School or better.
