YARD OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY A
yard person/ Laborer maintains general outdoor and indoor housekeeping at the company's facilities all year around in all weather conditions. He/She assists other personnel with plant maintenance and manual labor associated with plant operation, using various hand tools and working around equipment. The yard person/Laborer may also operate a forklift to load and unload materials, off load rail tank cars and use a skip loader. Load and unload tanker trucks. This position requires you to be around hot asphalt and steam boilers that are all elevated temperatures. Management reserves the right to add or change the duties of the position at any time. Attendance shall meet the scheduled requirements of the company. This facility operates 24-hrs a day, 7 days a week, year around. Shifts will vary(day/night/weekends).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Valid California Driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Must be able to operate a forklift.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Construction experience. Must have good mechanical troubleshooting skills. Needs to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions. Must be willing to work overtime, night and weekends as directed. Regular attendance required.
