Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment for utility trenching and backfill.Essential Functions:

Operate heavy equipment for FTTH and ROW fiber projects Includes excavator, air compressor, and other related equipment. Maintain the equipment in working order and report any issues Implement and follow through with job instructions provided by leadership Ensure safety and quality control requirements at your sites Responsible for loading, unloading, chain binding, and transporting heavy equipment Inspect completed work to ensure all work is done professionally Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action Communicating orally and in writing Other duties as assignedSkills:
Work with basic hand tools Ability to lift/pull heavy equipment Comfortable with working in the outdoor elements through all seasons Must have a team-oriented mentality and be safety conscious Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card Must have past job experience operating heavy equipment Must be able to adapt in a high stress and fast paced environment Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required Recent experience working in the outdoor elements through all seasonsJob Classification:

Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation, and wind In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles Use of heavy machinery High noise levelUse of PPE Physical Demands:
Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of 50 pounds or more Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Frequently required to use hand and power tools Working Hours/Days Monday through Friday (possible weekends on occasion) Full Time Overtime as neededTravel Requirements:
