Job Description
Job Summary Join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator at our power and recycling plant in Orrington, Maine. Benefit from a 4 day work week with a gauranteed three day weekend. Your expertise will ensure projects are completed on time, within safety standards, and with precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your mechanical skills and contribute to large-scale infrastructure development. Duties Operate Brand New heavy construction machinery - Material Handlers & Wheel Loaders. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials. Manage material loading onto dump trucks, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor trailers to transport materials efficiently out of the plant. Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, inspections, repairs, and safety checks for accountability and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks effectively while adhering to project timelines and safety standards. Skills Strong knowledge of hydraulics systems and mechanical components for troubleshooting and maintenance purposes. Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs using hand tools and specialized tools. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including PPE use (personal protective equipment) and adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors effectively. Join us in building the future of our plant.
