Job Summary Join our dynamic civil construction team as an Earthwork & Civil Construction - Heavy Machinery Operator! In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy construction equipment to perform earthmoving, excavation, grading, and utility work on large-scale projects. Your expertise will help ensure that construction sites are safe, efficient, and aligned with project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety and precision. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment to perform earthwork, excavation, and grading tasks efficiently. Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures. Assist in construction utility work by locating underground utilities using utility locating techniques and ensuring safe excavation practices. Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all team members. Perform construction site activities including site preparation, leveling, trenching, and backfilling according to project plans and specifications. Coordinate with team members to execute construction grading and utility installation accurately while adhering to project timelines. Maintain detailed records of equipment operation, maintenance activities, and safety inspections to support ongoing project needs. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other utility equipment in a construction environment. Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation throughout projects. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations, equipment safety procedures, and general safety regulations on active job sites. Previous experience in earthwork, excavation, site grading, or utility installation within a civil or heavy construction setting. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent for commercial truck driving is preferred. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery operation and maintenance is highly desirable.
