An Operating Engineer or Heavy Equipment Operator drives and operates heavy equipment used in quarries, construction sites, landfills, refuse and recycling centers, or ports. Heavy Equipment may include, but is not limited to, bulldozers, excavators, paving equipment and pile drivers.

How You Will Make an Impact Manipulate heavy excavators and bulldozers safely on steep mountainous slopes and dense, wooded terrain. Utilize advanced GPS grading systems to execute high-precision site cuts and subgrade leveling to strict project specifications. Establish accurate survey benchmarks and elevation control points across diverse, rugged field environments. Inspect and maintain specialized earthmoving equipment daily to guarantee maximum jobsite safety and operational uptime. Collaborate closely with ground crews, grade setters, and site supervisors to maintain rapid project momentum. Adapt quickly to shifting startup environments and fluid field conditions to keep heavy civil operations moving forward. Required Qualifications & Experience Proven technical mastery operating heavy excavators or bulldozers in demanding, high-slope outdoor environments. Solid experience interpreting site plans and executing precise grade cuts under minimal supervision. Strong team-player mindset with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse field crews. Absolute willingness to travel up to 20% of your working hours to various project locations beyond a 30-mile radius. Preferred Qualifications & Experience 3 or more years of dedicated experience operating earthmoving equipment within civil and heavy construction. Hands-on experience utilizing Topcon GPS machinery control systems for high-precision grading work.
