Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in site work to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of construction machinery to perform excavation, grading, utility installation, and paving tasks on active construction sites. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that shape our communities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence. Duties Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling machines to perform site preparation and utility work. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations. Assist with construction grading, excavation, and utility installation to prepare sites for subsequent phases of construction. Locate underground utilities using specialized equipment to prevent damage during excavation activities. Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment. Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to project timelines. Support paving operations and other site development activities as needed, ensuring quality workmanship throughout the process. Skills Proven experience operating construction machinery such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge for performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting machinery issues. Ability to interpret construction plans and perform accurate excavation and grading work. Knowledge of construction utility work including utility locating techniques in compliance with safety standards. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety protocols on-site. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
