Job Description

TITLE:

Painter

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a valid driver's license.

Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and application techniques common to the painting trade.

Demonstrates aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Must have excellent customer service skills.

Must be able to safely lift and carry 55 lbs.

REPORTS TO

Paint Lead

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Must perform all aspect of painting requirements the district may require as scheduled by the Paint Lead.

Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment and other structures.

Washes, scrapes, sands, torches and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.

Cleans equipment, paint mixing area and work area.

Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating material and other hazardous materials.

Must perform all duties assigned by Paint Lead

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Twelve month basis. Salary to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy.
