American Boiler & Mechanical is seeking a motivated Pipefitter/Welder Helper to join our growing team. Position Summary The Pipefitter/Welder Helper assists Pipefitters, Welders, and other skilled tradespeople with the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems and related mechanical equipment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience while learning the pipefitting and welding trade through on-the-job training. What You'll Do
- Assist Pipefitters and Welders with the fabrication and installation of commercial and industrial piping systems.
- Gather, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
- Measure, cut, clean, grind, bevel, and prepare pipe and materials for fitting and welding.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite procedures.
- Learn to read blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction, manufacturing, welding, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to learn pipefitting and welding skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
