This is just one of the many perks you have to look forward to Ahern is seeking qualified applicants for the Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship program to work within the Rochester, MN area. This is a 5-year apprenticeship program working side-by-side with a journeymen sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Apprentices will complete on-the-job training and 5 years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, a Journeyman earns over double the apprentice hourly rate! Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, have a clean driving record to operate company vehicles, have year-round employment in a stable company with a great safety record, and pass an appropriate drug screen and physical (the job entails a great deal of lifting and climbing). Successful candidates must be self-starters, have a strong mechanical background, have a good working and learning attitude, and be able to work in a fast-paced construction environment (both in and outdoors).
