Pipefitter Helper/Welder Apprentice

Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Assist pipefitters in the installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems
- Measure, cut, and thread pipes using hand tools and power tools
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of pipe sections, fittings, and fixtures
- Assist in the installation of valves, pumps, and other mechanical equipment
- Follow blueprints, specifications, and codes to ensure proper installation
- Perform basic welding tasks using Stick welding techniques
- Clean and maintain work area and tools
Experience:
- Previous experience as a pipefitter helper or similar role is not required
- Knowledge of welding techniques
- Familiarity with tube bending methods and equipment
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of pipefitting principles
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for cutting, threading, and fabricating pipes
- Ability to solder and braze pipes and fittings
- Familiarity with codes and standards related to pipefitting work
