Job Description
Conemaugh Township Municipal Authority is looking for a Skilled Laborer/Equipment Operator. Experience in water distribution systems and/or water treatment with slow sand filter is preferred. Candidate should be willing to obtain a Class C water operator license and we are willing to train the right candidate. Applicant must be mechanically inclined and experienced with the use of miscellaneous hand tools and power equipment. Wages will be compensatory with experience.
DUTIES:
Repair water leaks on mains and services. Install new/replacement water services and mains. Set up traffic control devices & flag traffic. Replace concrete, blacktop, topsoil and other restoration tasks. Use of computers and tablets for accessing GIS maps, documenting completed maintenance & completing daily time sheets. Read PA One Call tickets and mark out utilities. Be available for 24/7 callout rotations for emergency work. Read meter routes. Perform any and all other appropriate functions as required.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school education. Prefer a valid Class B driver's license. Knowledge of trench safety and ability to work within trench shoring. Experience working within confined spaces. Previous experience of operating dump trucks, back-hoes and excavators is required.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a variety of physical activities including, but not limited to climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, standing and walking to perform water main repairs, blacktop and concrete work. Speaking, hearing, reading and writing are necessary to communicate with the office manager and other employees. Document daily activity, and to fill out time sheets. Minimum normal vision is required to perform all aspects of job. Requires the ability to learn related steps and processes. Individual must be able to work with limited supervision at timesPHYSICAL EFFORT
Job requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
Job requires exposure to outside environmental conditions such as extreme heat and cold, work during inclement weather, along with proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, noise, fumes, odors, dusts, and gases.
