Duties Assist with surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion Support painters in mixing paints and coatings accurately according to color theory and project specifications Handle various hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spraying), and conventional spray equipment safely and effectively Use ladders and scaffolding properly to reach high or difficult areas while adhering to safety regulations and respiratory protection protocols Prepare construction painting surfaces such as drywall, stucco, plaster, concrete, and masonry for finishing work Assist with the application of paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other methods for residential, commercial, or industrial projects Interpret technical drawings or instructions to assist in fixture installation, restoration work, or remodeling projects Support site cleanup, material organization, and maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment Qualifications Basic knowledge of construction estimating concepts and familiarity with construction site procedures Experience or interest in construction painting surface preparation, coating techniques, or renovation projects Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders safely, and follow all safety regulations including respiratory protection measures Understanding of color theory for visual color comparison during paint matching processes Strong attention to detail with good basic math skills for measurements and mixing paints or coatings accurately Prior experience with drywall installation, caulking, stucco application, plastering, or masonry is a plus but not required Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions related to construction or renovation tasks Reliable team player with a proactive attitude towards safety protocol adherence and site maintenance This role is an excellent stepping stone for those interested in building a career in construction painting.
