Job Description
What You'll Do System Installation:
Install and assemble pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures for potable water, sanitary lines, grease lines, gas lines, steam piping, and fire protection systems.Maintenance & Repair:
Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on plumbing equipment such as boilers, water heaters, lift stations, interceptors, circulating pumps, and backflow prevention devices.Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to plan efficient system layouts.Pipefitting & Fabrication:
Cut, thread, bend, solder, braze, and weld pipes made of copper, cast iron, steel, PVC, and other materials using hand and power tools.Testing & Inspection:
Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure proper function and compliance with local, state, and national plumbing and safety codes.Safety & Compliance:
Follow strict safety protocols when working with hazardous materials, high-pressure systems, confined spaces, or at heights.Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with other trades and maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.Travel:
Limited but possible for training or special projects. Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll Bring Education:
High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.Experience:
10+ years in industrial or commercial plumbing at a journeyman or master level.Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver's license, state/county Journeyman or Master Plumbing License, and certifications such as backflow prevention.Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift heavy materials, work in awkward positions, climb ladders, and tolerate various weather conditions. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Work Environment Exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens. Use of cleaning solvents and PPE (masks, respirators, Tyvek suits, etc.). Confined spaces and loud noise environments.
