Appointment Type Full Time Description Position Summary:
The Plumber performs all aspects of operations related to the plumbing trade including but not limited to, sanitary and potable water systems, kitchen equipment and operation support including dishwashers, grease traps and garbage disposals, swimming pools and related equipment, circulating pump installation and rebuilding, natural gas system maintenance, customer service, and operation of equipment in a safe manor Range $38.46 -$53.24 per hour

1. Troubleshoots, installs, repairs, replaces and inspects all district plumbing systems including but not limited to; faucets, toilets, lavatories, sinks, flush valves, drinking fountains, water heaters, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water meters, mixing valves and catch basins. 2. Installs, repairs and calibrates swimming control devices (electronic and mechanical). 3. Repairs, replaces and inspects eyewash and body wash systems. 4. Tests, installs, repairs and replaces cross connection/backflow devices. 5. Repairs and/or replaces water lines, domestic recirculation lines and sewer lines. 6. Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs in district facilities including, but not limited to, domestic water systems and related devices and sanitary waste drainage. 7. Maintains and repair all-natural gas services including valves. 8. Provides drawings and pull plumbing permits as required per state and local codes. 9. Winterizes facilities and irrigation systems. 10. Installs, repairs, maintains and calibrates water softeners and other filtration systems. 11. Ensures that work areas are properly maintained. 12. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. 13. Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and actively supports the RUSD Strategic Plan.
Supervision Received:
Receives general direction from the Plumbing Foreperson. The Plumber exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
Supervision Exercised:
The Plumber does not supervise other staff but works closely with district staff and staff within the Office of Operations.
Work Environment:
Busy work environment with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Work includes a commitment to irregular working hours, when needed. Position requires the availability for flexible shifts and additional hours as necessary and ability to be on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week when needed for district emergencies. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; sitting for extended periods of time; walking; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; intermittent bending, stooping or reaching overhead to retrieve or store materials; driving a vehicle to conduct business activities. Primarily an indoor work environment, but frequent travel between district sites is required with occasional out of town travel, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and construction equipment. Job duties may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Ability to work with a respirator if needed. Employee must carry district provided cell phone in the execution of their job duties.

Education and Experience:
1. Completion of State Indentured Apprenticeship Program. 2. Must have or be willing to obtain a State Certified Master Plumber License. 3. Five (5) years full-time experience as a Journeyman Plumber in a Commercial/ Industrial/ Institutional setting or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved, i.e., military or technical school training and experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
1. Must possess and maintain a valid WI Driver's License along with a good driving record. A good driving record is defined as zero moving violations (points) within the past 12 months. 2. Must maintain availability of a properly insured personal vehicle always. 3. Certified Pool/Spa Operator within 6 months of employment. 4. Blood Borne Pathogen and other RUSD required safety training (Lead Supervisory, Asbestos Awareness, ALICE, etc.) within 12 months of employment.
