Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a experienced and bilingual ENG/SPA Solar Field Technician to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of photovoltaic (solar) systems in outdoor environments. Your bilingual skills will enable effective communication with diverse team members and clients, ensuring safety and efficiency on every project. This position offers 40 hrs per week at $23 per hour to start. Must have a valid Driver License, good record, be bilingual Eng/Spa and work overtime if needed. Duties Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of high voltage and low voltage solar systems to identify issues quickly and accurately. Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment safely to perform system assembly, wiring, fixture installation, and repairs. Read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure proper system configuration and compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on photovoltaic systems while adhering to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) electrical safety procedures. Document work performed through detailed reports and logs; communicate effectively with team members in both English and Spanish to coordinate tasks efficiently. Maintain a safe work environment by following all electrical safety procedures, including proper use of voltmeters, testing equipment, and personal protective gear. Requirements Proven experience working as a solar technician or in electrical work related to photovoltaic systems installation or maintenance. Strong understanding of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Knowledge of NEC codes, NFPA 70 compliance standards, and electrical safety procedures specific to outdoor renewable energy projects. Experience with construction site work, roofing, or outdoor installations is highly desirable. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using voltmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools effectively. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, fixtures installation equipment, ladders, and construction materials. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to facilitate clear communication across diverse teams. Electrical experience a must, great team player Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards; previous roofing or outdoor construction experience is advantageous.
