Full Job Description Description:
Sun Service Specialists is a rapidly growing solar service company based in Charlotte, NC. We specialize in servicing and supporting existing residential and light commercial solar, battery storage, and EV charging systems. We're looking for an experienced Solar Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, working with their hands, and solving problems in the field. If you have hands-on solar experience and want to grow your skills in the service side of the industry, we want to hear from you! What You'll Do Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial solar PV systems. Service inverters, optimizers, monitoring equipment, and other solar components. Assist with battery storage and EV charging systems. Complete service calls and projects safely, efficiently, and professionally. Document work performed and communicate field updates. Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and job sites. Follow OSHA, NEC, company, and local safety requirements. Participate in ongoing technical training and certifications.
Requirements:
What We're Looking For 1+ year of hands-on solar experience in installation, service, maintenance, or troubleshooting. Working knowledge of residential solar PV systems and components. Experience using hand and power tools. Basic understanding of electrical systems and safe work practices. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely work on rooftops, ladders, attics, and crawlspaces. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus points for:
Battery storage, EV chargers, electrical or roofing experience, solar monitoring platforms, NABCEP or OSHA certifications, and experience reading electrical diagrams.
