Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and restoring various types of flooring and wall tiles across residential, commercial, and restoration projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces by ensuring precise craftsmanship, adherence to safety standards, and efficient project completion. Responsibilities Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to determine tile layout and installation procedures. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or adhesives for optimal tile adhesion. Install a variety of flooring materials including ceramic, porcelain, epoxy floors, vinyl, hardwood, carpet, and other building materials with precision. Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and secure tiles according to specifications. Perform floor refinishing tasks such as buffing and sealing to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. Execute water damage restoration by removing damaged flooring or tiles and installing new materials as needed. Follow all building installation safety compliance protocols while handling materials like caulking, trim carpentry elements, fixtures, and cabinetry. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating, tile laying, flooring installation, or related roles within the construction or restoration industry. Strong knowledge of interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans. Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., trowels, chisels), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and floor care equipment. Ability to handle manual tasks including lifting heavy materials safely in accordance with manual handling guidelines. Familiarity with epoxy floor installation, carpet installation, vinyl floor installation, hardwood floor installation, and floor refinishing techniques. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on building material installation and restoration projects. Knowledge of water damage restoration processes and floor care practices. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills for interpreting schematics and ensuring precise tile placement. Valid experience in remodeling projects such as cabinet installation or construction painting is a plus.
