Working with children Case management Data collection Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Art Therapist/Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, manage crises, and achieve personal growth through evidence-based interventions. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Plan or conduct art therapy sessions to improve clients' cognitive, or emotional well-being. Observe and document client reactions, progress, or other outcomes related to art therapy. Design art therapy sessions or programs to meet client's goals or objectives. Conduct art therapy sessions, providing guided self-expression experiences to help clients recover from, or cope with, cognitive/emotional impairments. Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or behavioral crises. Facilitate intake processes, develop personalized treatment plans, and maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, discharge planning, and community resource linkage for optimal patient care. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling sessions while ensuring confidentiality and technical proficiency. Engage in clinical research and data collection efforts to improve therapeutic approaches and contribute to evidence-based practices. Support patients with special needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding standards, CPT coding for billing purposes, and behavioral health best practices. Experience Proven experience in clinical mental health counseling or psychotherapy within outpatient or inpatient settings. Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatrics. Strong background in crisis management, behavior management techniques, and social work principles. Familiarity with hospital environments or medical settings is highly desirable. Experience utilizing telehealth technology for remote patient care is preferred. Knowledge of medical records management and medical documentation standards aligned with HIPAA compliance. Training or certification in addiction counseling, grief counseling, psychopharmacology, or special education is a plus. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using
