Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE & SUMMARY
Briefly describe the purpose of the position and general responsibilities: The Assistant Director has direct contact with staff, funders, community stakeholders, service recipients (client, patient, or customer) and oversees the operations of programs across all Centers and service delivery sites. Also assists the Executive Director in implementation of budgets, strategic plans, fundraising, and when necessary, will stand in for the Executive Director. Provide leadership in the development of the organization's statement of vision, mission, and goals, and corresponding strategies, plans, and budgets to achieve them. Ensure that strategies are clearly understood by all stakeholders and that the organization is achieving its strategic goals at an optimum pace.ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Report on Outreach, Social Services, and Behavioral Health programs. Provide supervision and training to Program Directors, including oversight of the maintenance of records and reports. Define, monitor and report relevant performance measures. Make changes as needed to improve the delivery of services and comply with regulatory requirements. Ensure each client's continuum of care is seamless through necessary reporting and follow-up with clinic funders, sub-contractors and other referral sources. Create the proposed budgets for all governmental program grants and verify monthly accounting for these grants. Maintain consistent interaction with program personnel to monitor the financial progress of grants and contracts. Prepare budget revisions for grants and contracts as needed. Prepare grant and contract reports to Funders and Board of Directors as required. Document an Organizational Code of Conduct to ensure employees align actions and decisions with ODC core values and compliance requirements. Create checkpoints across the organization to support recognition of potential ethics and compliance issues before they arise and to deal appropriately with those issues that do occur. The Code complements ODC policies which ensure adherence to legal and compliance requirements Ensure all environmental and professional precautions have been made to meet OSHA and other government safety regulations. Monitor, record, evaluate, and make recommendations for improvement at least once annually. Utilize training that will support strategic ways to expand services. Benchmark other agencies in how they have created work plans to create growth. As a condition of your employment, you will be required to work with clients who may display challenging, unruly or disruptive behaviors. While such behaviors from clients may be addressed through established intervention and de-escalation procedures, any client who engages in physically violent conduct may be subject to immediate discharge from care with the approval of the Executive Director. Required:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in human services, public health, and/or business. Master's degree preferred. Three to Five years of supervisory experience in a related field Ability to travel throughout the state and national meetings, but primarily in Kane, Lake, McHenry, DuPage, Will, Suburban Cook, and DeKalb Counties in Illinois. Knowledge and ability to work with populations who test positive for a variety of STI's andHIV/AIDS.
