Job Description

Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Interior Construction) Position Summary An Assistant Project Manager (APM) in construction supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The role helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards and contract requirements. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination Assist with day-to-day project management activities Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and field teams Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables Help organize project meetings and prepare meeting minutes Documentation & Reporting Maintain project files, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and contracts Monitor document control systems Prepare progress reports and project updates Ensure permits and compliance documentation are current Scheduling Support development and maintenance of construction schedules Track delays and coordinate schedule updates Follow up with subcontractors on timelines and deliverables Site & Field Support Conduct site visits and inspections Assist with quality control and safety compliance Coordinate material deliveries and logistics Help resolve field issues and construction conflicts Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred) 1-3 years of construction or project coordination experience Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and contracts Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings Strong organizational and communication skills Preferred Skills Strong Excel and reporting skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments Typical Work Environment Combination of office and construction site work Requires travel to job sites Sample Job Posting Version Assistant Project Manager - Construction We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the planning and execution of commercial construction projects.
