Automotive Installation Technician (Upfitter)

About us Real Power a division of Contour Hardening, Inc. manufactures custom PTO driven generator systems for commercial work trucks (realacpower.com). Real Power has seen phenomenal growth in the last couple of years and we are looking to expand our manufacturing and installation team once again! We are looking to train the right person for an entry level position. $2000 Tool allowance provided 60 days after hiring, tools are yours to keep after 2 years of employment. This job is a combination of electrical and mechanical work. We do not expect you to be an expert or have experience in both fields. This job requires a variety of different skill sets that will all be taught through on the job training. Some of these skills are fabrication, welding, assembly, installing PTO's, installing equipment on diesel trucks, electrical (12VDC as well as single and 3 phase AC), powder coating, etc. Job Description (prefer some experience some in these areas): Custom fabrication, knowledge and use of basic machine shop equipment and tools. Provide personal tools as needed to perform job. Understand basic electrical devices (i.e. fuses, circuit breakers, relays, solenoids, transformers, etc.) Willing to be cross trained in all areas of the shop to acquire additional skills as needed. Welding, custom fabrication, powder coating, assembly and disassembly of PTO driven AC generators and related electrical equipment, and machining on a mill and lathe. Lift, carry, and position 40+ pound objects on an as needed basis on and off the shop floor. Self-manage own abilities and ask for assistance when necessary to perform job. Work in a team environment and accept constructive criticism. Willingly perform additional duties as required. Read mechanical and electrical prints and drawings. Fast learner, work on something new every day.
