Job Description

- Provide quality instruction, which is reflective of current discipline standards and is accurate, relevant, and engaging using college
- approved curriculum and resources Assess student learning
- Demonstrate reflective practice, including assessment of student learning. This includes ongoing formative assessments, as well as official departmental assessment Manage classes and learning environments
- Foster a positive classroom-learning environment by presenting information in a way that is inclusive to all learners, including the assurance of section 508 accessibility Promote continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning Support learning through student engagement by incorporating pedagogical strategies such as active learning, authentic and problem-based activities, and other successful teaching strategies into classroom instruction Provide student guidance•Help students develop academic habits for college success Pursue professional development by staying current in academic field Actively participate collegially in department, campus, cross-college, discipline specific, district, and community service activities Perform other duties as assigned to provide high-quality learning experience for students, including participating in commencement, attending college functions, etc.
Coordination of Honda PACT Program Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in one of the following: Automotive Technology Automotive Engineering OR Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Mast Technician with Auto Maintenance Light Repair (G1) Advanced Engine Performance Specialist (L1) Five (5) or more years of shop experience OR A combination of formal training, work experience and professional tested experience that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taughtPreferred Qualifications:
Significant work experience with Honda vehicles or training specific to Honda PACT certification. Bachelor's degree in discipline or related discipline Significant OEM training history with documentation Additional ASE Certifications beyond Master Technician Classroom and laboratory teaching experience in a college setting Experience with student assessment Experience with curriculum design Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Training experience in an automotive industry setting Retail Dealership Technician experience Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community Demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students Ability to work well with others Strong oral and written communication skills Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
