• Altavista, VA Apple Chevrolet of Altavista is seeking experienced Automotive Technicians to join our growing service team.

Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using OEM schematics and automotive electrical systems to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs on powertrain and chasis components with precision. Knowledge of or willingness to learn transmissions and diesel engines. Execute vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and system inspections. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools to complete repairs efficiently. Work on ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations and alignments to meet manufacturer specifications. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations while adhering to dealership protocols. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and recommendations clearly to your service advisor partners. Assist with estimating processes when necessary, ensuring accurate assessment of repair needs. Requirements Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, grow, and adapt in a team-oriented environment Proven dealership or service technician experience with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge across vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical systems, transmissions, and diesel engines. Proficiency with schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools. Experience working with GM vehicles is preferred but not required. ASE or factory certifications are a plus, but not required. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive maintenance tools effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing complex issues. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; relevant certifications or ASE certifications are a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
