Our ideal candidate enjoys connecting with customers, thrives in a cozy community space, and feels comfortable shifting between recommending a great read, crafting a latte, and serving a signature cocktail. What You'll Do Welcome customers and offer thoughtful book recommendations Prepare coffee, tea, and specialty drinks (training provided) Serve beer, wine, and simple cocktails during events and busy hours Operate the POS system and handle transactions accurately Keep the shop tidy, inviting, and well‑stocked Assist with book clubs, author events, and themed community nights Support inventory tasks: shelving, tagging, restocking Contribute to the warm, inclusive atmosphere we're known for Requirements Must be at least 20 years + 1 day old (required for alcohol service in Kentucky) Strong customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast‑moving environment Comfort with café or food‑service tasks (or willingness to learn) Weekend and morning availability Reliability, kindness, and a collaborative spirit Interest in books, community events, and small‑business culture Perks Employee discount on books, drinks, and merch A creative, supportive work environment Opportunities to help shape events, displays, and seasonal menus Being part of a small business that values people over perfection
