Brazing Machine Operator

Job Title:

Brazing- Assembler Electronic Assembler Job Description In this specialized entry-level role, you will perform torch brazing primarily on copper-to-copper joints. This is a critical step in manufacturing high-conductivity power distribution components such as busbars for electric vehicles and industrial power systems. You will be trained to create high-strength, leak-proof bonds using manual oxygen-fuel torches. Responsibilities Set up and operate hand-held torches to heat copper components to the correct temperature for alloy flow. Apply flux and filler metals, such as silver or phosphorus-copper alloys, to create clean, high-conductivity joints between copper plates, terminals, or tubes. Clean and degrease copper surfaces and use jigs and fixtures to align parts according to blueprints. Remove flux residue and oxidation, and perform visual inspections to ensure complete capillary action and bond integrity. Strictly follow safety protocols for pressurized gas cylinders, open flames, and ventilation. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED required. 1-2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines, or 0 years with additional specialized training and/or certification. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with hand/power tools. Work Environment The work environment is temperature-controlled, clean, and well-organized, with slight noise due to running equipment. Employees work the 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
