In this role, you will assist with a variety of painting projects, ensuring surfaces are properly prepared, coated, and finished to meet high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers on drywall, stucco, or other substrates. Assist with the application of paint using brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including airless spray), and conventional spray equipment. Support the team in structural and surface painting tasks on residential, commercial, or industrial sites. Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform repairs or prepare surfaces for coating. Follow detailed instructions from technical drawings and interpret color theory to ensure accurate color matching. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris according to safety protocols. Adhere to all safety regulations including the use of respiratory protection and proper handling of hazardous materials. Qualifications Prior experience in construction painting or related handyman/remodeling roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and proper use of ladder safety techniques. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation and coating coverage. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), and scaffolding safely. Knowledge of construction estimating, surface preparation techniques, and various types of coatings is a plus. Experience with drywall installation, caulking, stucco work, or fixture installation is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with an eye for visual color comparison and quality control during projects. Good physical stamina for standing, climbing ladders, bending, lifting heavy materials, and working at heights on construction sites.
