Program Coordinator
At Centro Hispano de Frederick, your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the community. As our part-time Program Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting our senior citizens and their families and be part of the dynamic Centro Hispano de Frederick Team which is compassionately and professionally serving some of the most vulnerable individuals and families throughout Frederick County.
Position Summary
Centro Hispano de Frederick seeks a part-time Program Coordinator with experience in senior programs and specifically planning and delivering education, recreation and health programming.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of Años Dorados activities, including calendars, registration, reminders, supplies, room setup and breakdown, transportation assistance, and participant follow-up
Plan culturally responsive social, educational, recreational, health-promotion, and intergenerational activities in collaboration with participants, staff, volunteers, and community partners
Welcome participants and create an inclusive, dignified, and age-friendly environment w older adults feel seen, valued, and connected
Maintain regular communication with participants, caregivers, families, and referral partners
Work with other team members to help participants navigate available services by providing information and warm referrals for health care, benefits, food access, transportation, housing, legal assistance, and other supports; follow organizational referral and confidentiality procedures
Orient, schedule, and support volunteers and guest presenters as assigned
Maintain accurate attendance, activity, referral, consent, and outcome records; assist with program reports, surveys, grant documentation, and success stories
Track program expenses, receipts, purchases, and in-kind contributions within the approved budget and organizational procedures
Support participant safety, accessibility, emergency readiness, and mandated reporting requirements in accordance with organizational policies and applicable law
Represent Centro Hispano de Frederick professionally at community meetings and events and perform other program-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and at least two years of relevant experience in community programs, human services, older-adult services, education, public health, or a related setting; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in both languages
Strong organization, follow-through, interpersonal communication, and group-facilitation skills
Demonstrated cultural humility and commitment to serving immigrants, Hispanic/Latino families, and older adults with dignity and confidentiality
Proficiency with email, shared calendars, word processing, spreadsheets, video meetings, and accurate data entry
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and respond calmly to changing participant needs
Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally within Frederick County; valid driver's license and insurance
Ability to complete required background checks and job-related training
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in social work, human services, gerontology, public health, education, nonprofit management, or a related field
Experience working with older adults, immigrant communities, community health workers, benefits navigation, or volunteer-led programs
Knowledge of Frederick County services and resources

Part-time position (~15 hours per week); no benefits
