•Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Resident Services Associate to help support the daily operations of our residential communities while serving as a key on-the-ground resource for residents and the surrounding community. This role goes beyond traditional property management and plays an important part in supporting housing stability, coordinating community outreach, and partnering with local organizations that serve vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate brings strong resident services experience, excellent communication skills, and a heart for service—particularly in working with low-income households, Section 8 participants, and community-based support programs. This position requires a proactive, hands-on approach to tenant relations, regulatory compliance, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Property Operations & Management Support day-to-day on-site operations, including leasing, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, and rent compliance. Maintain accurate records of tenant files, lease agreements, compliance documentation, and property activities. Implement marketing and leasing strategies to promote vacancies and maintain occupancy. Tenant Relations & Customer Service Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for residents. Provide professional, empathetic customer service while addressing tenant inquiries, concerns, and disputes. Enforce lease terms and community rules consistently while maintaining a resident-centered approach. Support conflict resolution with a focus on de-escalation, communication, and long-term housing stability. Compliance & Affordable Housing Support Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant regulations, and local housing requirements. Support and manage Section 8 / Housing Choice Voucher tenants, including inspections, documentation, and communication with housing authorities. Maintain audit-ready documentation and assist with compliance reporting as needed. Community Outreach & Support Services Act as a liaison between residents and community organizations, including: Homelessness assistance programs Flood and disaster relief ministries Food banks and food distribution partners Local nonprofits and outreach agencies Assist residents in connecting with community resources that promote housing stability, food security, and wellness. Support on-site or nearby community initiatives aimed at improving resident outcomes and neighborhood well-being. Participate in outreach efforts that promote safe, stable housing and positive community relationships. Qualifications Prior experience in property management, real estate administration, or affordable housing required. Experience working with Section 8 or low-income housing communities required. Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations is required. Strong interpersonal and conflict-management skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Excellent customer service skills with a professional, compassionate approach. Proficiency in AppFolio or similar property management software. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Comfortable serving as both an operations manager and a community-facing representative.
