Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into an essential role supporting students' communication needs in a vibrant elementary school setting. As a Sign Language Interpreter, your expertise will ensure educational access and promote inclusion throughout the academic year. This is a rewarding contract position from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, working on-site Monday through Friday, with a consistent schedule of 7:00am to 2:30pm (35 hours per week). Your primary assignment will be at an elementary school, providing direct support on a 1:1 caseload. You'll work closely with faculty, staff, and educators to facilitate clear, effective communication for deaf or hard-of-hearing students, ensuring they thrive in the classroom environment.
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter, meeting state requirements EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (mandatory unless you hold RID certification) RID certification holders are also welcomed, regardless of EIPA score Experience working in educational settings, ideally with elementary students Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative mindset Must be punctual and arrive before students each day to prepare for student arrival Ability to follow school policies, maintain confidentiality, and foster a supportive learning atmosphere
