9600261-28117 Job Description Step into a dynamic school-based setting as a Sign Language Interpreter, where your expertise will directly support students access to education and communication. This contract role spans the academic year from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, and offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with 35 hours per week (7:00am 2:30pm). Youll be based onsite at an elementary caseload, playing an essential role in student success.

Key Experience & Qualifications:

Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter. EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required. Individuals with current RID certification are also eligible, regardless of EIPA status. Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience in educational interpreting environments. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and adaptability. Ability to be present before students arrive each day to ensure a smooth start.

Core Responsibilities:

Provide real-time interpretation of spoken communication into ASL to facilitate understanding in classroom and school activities. Support one-on-one and group communication needs for assigned student(s). Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and administrators to foster an inclusive learning environment. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all interpreting interactions. Remain consistently onsite (remote/voco interpreting is not permitted).
