This role involves assisting faculty with laboratory setup, classroom management, student engagement, and administrative tasks to enhance the learning experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and experience working with students in higher education or university settings. This position is open to Lamar University Biology department graduate students Essential Job Functions Support laboratory activities, including setup, cleanup, and safety compliance Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard for course content delivery and student engagement Conduct laboratory exercises, grade exams, proctor exams and perform other duties assigned by the instructor or department chair Facilitate classroom management by maintaining an organized learning environment Minimum and Desired Qualifications This position is open to graduate students in the biology department at Lamar University Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Blackboard Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students and faculty Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Experience with classroom management and learning technology integration Background in research or laboratory settings is a plus Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and educational technologies Supplemental Information Approximately 5 hours per week per laboratory section Lamar University is An Equal Opportunity Employer Lamar University is proud to provide employment preference to veteran applicants in accordance with Texas 805 Government Code, Section 657.003.
