The assignment is conveniently located near Fountain, CO, and runs from August 11 to May 20, offering a consistent weekly commitment of 15-20 hours. In this role, you will: Provide specialized instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments, focusing on access to the general curriculum and development of critical life skills. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Conduct educational assessments, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction based on evolving needs. Facilitate the use of assistive technologies and accessible materials for students. Support both in-classroom learning and one-on-one or small group sessions, ensuring an inclusive environment. Serve as an advocate for students and share expertise with colleagues to foster positive outcomes.
Qualifications and experience sought:
Current certification or eligibility as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting. Deep understanding of braille, low vision devices, and accessible educational tools. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to creatively adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
